2005 Scholarship Recipients

Gillian Bradshaw (photo, right) is the granddaughter of John A. Kennedy, Canada Chieftain of the Kennedy Society. Gillian is 7 years old, has studied Highland Dance for almost two years, and lives in Port Carling, Ontario, Canada.
In this photo, Gillian is dancing at the Highlands of Durham Games in Uxbridge, Ontario, Canada in July. She won 6th place for her Highland Fling. She also won 1st for Sword Dance and 5th for Highland Fling at the Fergus Scottish Festival in Fergus, Ontario, Canada in August (see photo of Gillian with her medals on the 2005 Photos page).
Col. Christoph Kresse (holding trophy in photo, left) is the son-in-law of Col. Eugene Kennedy (right in photo), Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. Christoph is a competitive Grade I piper and is interested in the art of Piobaireachd (the classical music of the Scottish bagpipes). He lives in Laurinburg, North Carolina.
Christoph took several honors at the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games in July, including Grade I Best All-Around Piper. Levi Sherman (center in photo, right) is 11 years old and has Buchanan and Ross clans in his background. Levi is a serious piper and is hoping to move from Grade IV to Grade III this year. He came in 6th in Piobaireachd at Grandfather Mountain in July 2005. He lives in Young Harris, Georgia.

David Noren (photo, left) is 15 years old and is a Grade III solo piper. He traces his lineage to the Walker sept of the clan Calquhoun. David is currently working on his Eagle rank in the Boy Scouts and lives in Marietta, Georgia.
